First Visit, Welcoming Children of All Ages
The goal of children’s dentistry is to help children maintain their primary teeth from when they come in until they are shed, as well as their permanent teeth as they replace the primary teeth. Keeping primary teeth healthy is just as important as permanent teeth. Primary teeth are placeholders for permanent teeth. The health of the primary teeth sets the tone for the long-term health of the permanent teeth.
Our practice provides complete care for complete health. This philosophy of dentistry covers dental care as well as overall health and how they merge together with the best possible outcomes. Our team looks forward to assisting you and your child(ren) with their dental needs.
After scheduling your child’s initial visit, a Dental Partners representative will review with you what is needed for the appointment.
BEFORE YOUR CHILD'S VISIT
We ask that all new patient paperwork be filled out a minimum of 2 business days before your appointment, as the doctor will review these forms before your visit. If your child is seeing us for a 2nd opinion or changing to our practice, please complete the medical release form and coordinate with our office to have records and or copies of records sent to us for evaluation before their visit. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact our office.

New Patient Experience for Children
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists recommends that children receive their first dental check-up by the age of 1. Informing your child about their first dental visit is very helpful. We will get to know your child and help them to feel comfortable in the office by explaining what will happen during their visit, and showing them the tools and instruments, we will use to help keep their smile healthy.
We will do a comprehensive evaluation of cavities and a growth and development assessment. Every child who is old enough to stand in our CBCT machine will receive a complimentary low-dose CBCT image of their jaws, sinuses, and airway to ensure that your child’s growth is on track with no barriers to breathing. (a sleep and breathing questionnaire is included in the new patient paperwork). Our doctor will evaluate your child more comprehensively than ever before, looking not only at their teeth but also their oral musculature, jaw growth, sinuses, nasal passageway, airway, tonsils, and adenoids.
Children are always treated with extra care and provided with extra fun. We encourage parents to accompany their children during their visits. This provides an opportunity to see us working with your child and allows us to discuss dental findings and treatment needs directly with you. Their teeth will be cleaned, and a fluoride treatment will be provided with the parents’ permission. Hygiene and proper oral care are stressed at your child’s exam. Education and instructions on oral health will be discussed and encouraged.
After your child’s comprehensive exam diagnostics will be discussed with the parent(s) and a treatment plan will be developed and presented. Follow-up exam appointments, treatment appointments, or any additional services, may be made prior to you leaving the office.
We look forward to having you and your entire family as part of our dental family and look forward to partnering with you to provide complete care for complete health.
